The Proklens ® solvent recovery system has been carefully designed to keep operator supervision to an absolute minimum by the effective use of automatic filling controls and the subsequent decanting process. The unit is a triple skinned, mild steel vessel with solvent contained in the inner chamber and surrounded by a jacket of thermal oil. This oil is heated by electrical elements manufactured to EExd Class 1 flame-proof specifications with BASEEFA approvals. The heaters are controlled by a double thermostat with the first switch controlling the pre-set temperature to a maximum of 200° C. The second switch is a safety back-up and is set to a temperature 10° C higher than the first. The vessel temperature is controlled using a separate thermostat, which monitors the vapour temperature, with a pre-set limit. If tipped, this switch can only be re-set on the main control panel. All the electrical level controls and thermostats are operated through intrinsically safe barriers. In addition to the electrical safety features described above, there is a mechanical temperature gauge indicating vessel temperature, a pressure gauge and an automatic pressure relief valve set at 0.5 bar in the event that the system becomes blocked. A large lid and front door provide excellent access when cleaning is required. Solvent vapours are condensed through an efficient, water cooled heat exchanger mounted to the rear of the unit. Twin, mild steel buffer tanks are manufactured as a one cubic metre unit, with each tank being of 500 litres capacity. The unit is mounted on its own stand, under which the transfer pump can be sited. The control panel is manufactured to IP55 specification for location outside the flame-proof area. Each standard unit is supported on a stand and supplied complete with a set of non sparking cleaning tools, buffer tanks, transfer pump, installation and operating instructions.
